Terms and Conditions of our service

1. If you wish to cancel the service, we must be notified no less than 24 hours before the appointment.

2. If you cancel within 24 hours before the appointment a 50% cancellation fee will be charged.

3. We do recommend the monthly service, 1,2 or 4 times a month to get the dog comfortable and used to the groomer, equipment and being washed.

4a. By choosing The Pet Stylist as your grooming service provider, you will hand over your pet into the custody & control of The Pet Stylist at your own risk.

4b. The Pet Stylist will not be liable for any death, injury or loss of your pet whilst it is in the custody & control of The Pet Stylist.

5. We do not use muzzles - if the groomer feels unsafe at any stage of grooming, they are allowed to stop the service and let the dog out of the trailer. You will be refunded in full.

6. If upon arrival there are additional requirements payment will be required prior to grooming.

7. The Pet Stylist reserves the right to change price if the condition or size of the pet requires more work than anticipated.

8. The Pet Stylist reserves the right to charge an additional fee for severely matted dogs in addition to pricing displayed.

9. You are encouraged to book your service in advance.

10. It should be noted that there is a greater risk of cuts and injury for severely matted pets and The Pet Stylist will not be held liable for the injury of any pet.

11. Pet’s medical history must be disclosed before any treatment commences. We retain the right to refuse to groom any pet that may have any of the following:

  • Stitches from any surgery
  • Any open or weeping wounds
  • Any form of ill health
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Breathing difficulties
  • Unusual lethargy
  • Any other signs of injury not yet seen to by a vet

12. Grooming may expose underlying skin or health problems that we cannot be held liable for.

13. The client acknowledges that no complaints will be entertained more that 24 hours after being groomed.

14. Pets with ticks and fleas will be treated with The Pet Stylist's choice of remedy at the current cost indicated on our price list. Owners will be advised and are encouraged to address problems areas in their pet’s home and immediate environment.

15. The mobile salon will also need to be treated to prevent cross contamination therefore and additional charge of R50 will be levied if we are not informed prior to grooming of infestation. You will be advised to treat your pet and your home environment to eradicate the problem.

16. Please note that tick and flea dip is a pour-on insecticide. The Pet Stylist will not be held responsible or liable for any adverse skin reactions. We suggest that a spot-on or chewable tablet be used especially for pets with sensitive skin. It should also be noted that a dip kills only the ticks/fleas on the pet at the time and the environment will need to be treated as well to prevent reinfestation.

17. The Pet Stylist takes great care in ensuring a clean environment. We will however not be held liable or take any responsibility for your pet catching ticks or fleas. Dogs can become infested with ticks and fleas in numerous ways and from multiple sources.

18. Please note The Pet Stylist is not able to sedate your pet.

19. By using The Pet Stylist, the client agrees to their pet being photographed and being used on The Pet Stylist website/social media and for any marketing purposes.
